PEACHLAND ON THE LAKE

Peachland is a growing town of 5000 inhabitants nestled in the elbow of scenic Lake Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada - a growing town eager for new business opportunities, ready to help people moving to Peachland looking to start a new business or that are looking for a home where they can live, work and play. The Peachland Economic Development Commission can assist in helping you make it happen.

Peachland is a key Canadian tourist destination for thousands of visitors during the summer months offering a spectacular panoramic view of mountains stretching from nearby Kelowna in the north to Penticton in the south and an eight kilometer lakefront attraction that is the envy of the Okanagan.

In the summer months water activities such as swimming, kayaking, boating, and water skiing are prevalent while numerous hiking trails within Peachland itself as well as the back country offer walking enthusiasts plenty of healthy exercise.

During the winter months, Peachland’s milder climate at lake level is complemented by winter recreational activities readily accessible in the nearby mountains Nordic and downhill skiing, snow-mobiling and skating.

Peachland on the lake is also exceptionally culture conscious and is proud of its heritage and its visual, literary, and musical artists who exhibit their talents both locally and throughout the Valley. Its pride is expressed in its Art Shows, annual Christmas Light Up, Canada Day Parade, Peachland Heritage Day Music Festival, and the World of Wheels which attracts some 15,000 people to the town.

Peachland on the lake offers all these activities, and it is the goal of the Peachland Economic Development Committee to ensure that businesses seeking expansion or simply a fresh haven conducive to their enterprise will find a safe, prosperous, yet ecologically smart growth environment.

View the pages of our website and discover the needs of the community, its values, and the variety of economic, social, cultural and business opportunities we have to offer for sustainable growth.

Message from the Mayor
of Peachland

Those of us who live in beautiful, historic, Peachland, feel proud and privileged to do so. We love the beauty that surrounds us, and we cherish the extraordinary community spirit that nourishes our social and cultural life. With our magnificent beach front and the pioneer character of our downtown core, Peachland provides for its residents and visitors a unique example of small town charm.

As our town grows, we are taking great care to ensure that it grows in ways that are environmentally sustainable and compatible with our goal of ensuring that Peachland remains the extraordinarily beautiful place that it is to live, work, and play.

Recently, District Council engaged the services of the University of British Columbia, Design Centre for Sustainability, to manage a community based planning process to help us create a vision and plan for the revitalization of our downtown core.

The process used for this project was completed in May 2010, and the final report (now entering a public consultation process -- view at www.peachland.ca) clearly shows the value we place on furthering our economic development goals by ensuring that we build a livable, sustainable, and human scale future.

I hope that as a potential business investor, commercial operator, or residential property owner, this website, and those to which it is linked, will help you to understand what makes Peachland the unique town that it is, what changes are occurring and planned, and where we are going in the future.

We welcome your contribution in helping us to build that future.
